Gym

The newly equipped gym reflects the role of the organisation which is the prevention and treatment of sporting injuries. The equipment meets the current modern standards of practice for training and rehabilitation found at the elite level of sports and now allows us to provide that level to our clients alongside any therapy treatment that you are receiving.

The gym is split into two areas. The artificial turf allows for movement-based assessments, gait re-education and plyometric training to be performed and the other area being for fitness/weight training assessment, strength and conditioning training and weightlifting.

The weights area is set-up for both training and rehabilitation purposes. There is a main squat rack for use with both Olympic bar and Safety Squat bar and features safety rails for safe lifting. The Safety Squat bar is a relatively new design but allows training the squat for injured or new athletes as the loading is reduced through the shoulders and back allowing for improved technique and reduced injury risk. There are also Free Squat stands for the advanced trainer and to allow power-based exercises to be performed. The squat rack also features a “Land Mine” attachment for back and leg exercises to be performed and either a flat or adjustable bench for upper body exercises. Also available are a Deadlift Trap bar, comprehensive range of dumbbells, kettlebells, Power Bags and bands.

Within this area, we are set-up for weightlifting and have an Olympic training bar and plates and lifting blocks to teach beginners and help those needing technical guidance with Olympic lifts and each session can be videoed for analysis purposes.

To supplement the weights, we have two “Watt Bike Pro” bikes to enable fitness testing and recovery sessions to be monitored as well as detailed analysis of pedal efficiency and muscle balance in each leg to help with rehabilitation.
